Gentle Support for Comfort & Movement During Pregnancy
Pregnancy Osteopath Central Coast
Pregnancy brings many natural changes to posture, movement, and daily comfort. These changes can influence how your muscles, joints and soft tissues feel as your body adapts. At RG Osteopathy, treatment for pregnancy is calm, supportive and tailored to your stage of pregnancy. Using gentle, hands-on techniques, osteopathy aims to ease strain, support posture and promote comfortable movement as your body adapts.
Supporting the Body Through Each Stage of Pregnancy
Understanding Pregnancy Osteopathy
As your body grows and adapts, muscles, joints and connective tissues work harder to support posture and balance. These natural changes can sometimes create discomfort across the hips, pelvis, back and rib cage. Pregnancy osteopathy uses gentle techniques suited to each trimester to help ease tension, support overall comfort, increase movement, reduce pain and help prepare your body for labour and birth.
During your appointment, Rachel takes time to understand your symptoms, daily habits and pregnancy journey. She assesses posture, movement patterns and areas that may be under additional strain. External resources like Osteopathy Australia provide additional information about musculoskeletal care during pregnancy.
How Osteopathy May Support Your Pregnancy
Pregnancy osteopathy considers how postural changes, increased joint mobility and muscular load may contribute to your symptoms. Treatment aims to support balance and ease tension as the body continues to adapt.
People often seek osteopathic care during pregnancy to explore support for:
- Lower back or pelvic discomfort
- Rib or upper-back tightness or pain
- Hip or limb pain discomfort
- Movement restrictions with daily activities
- General muscle or joint strain
- Pelvic or sacroiliac (SIJ) discomfort or pain
- Discomfort when walking or turning in bed
- Muscle or joint discomfort associated with postural changes
- Postural strain
- Aches and pains
Treatment is always tailored to your stage of pregnancy, your comfort level, and your individual presentation.
What to Expect During Your Appointment
Appointments are gentle, comfortable and fully adapted to your needs. Rachel begins with a detailed discussion about your pregnancy progress, symptoms and daily routines. She then assesses movement, breathing mechanics and areas of tension to build a clear, supportive treatment plan.
Treatment may include:
- Soft tissue techniques
- Stretching
- Myofascial release (muscle, connective tissue, fascia)
- Joint articulation and mobilisation
- Cranial techniques (very gentle)
- Breathing and movement guidance
- Postural and ergonomic suggestions
- Home-based exercises
* Please note we do not perform internal pelvic floor assessments.
Positioning during treatment is always adapted for safety and comfort at every stage of pregnancy and post partum.
At RG Osteopathy, the focus is on helping women feel supported, informed and comfortable throughout their pregnancy journey.
Postpartum Osteopathy Central Coast
The postpartum period brings significant changes as the body begins to recover from pregnancy and birth. Osteopathy offers gentle, supportive care aimed at easing tension, assisting mobility and helping women as their body adjusts. Treatment may focus on the pelvis, lower back, rib cage and areas affected by feeding positions, lifting or general fatigue. Treatment will always be tailored to your specific symptoms and individual needs.
Rachel provides a calm, patient-centred approach, taking the time to understand your recovery, daily demands and overall wellbeing. Sessions are tailored to support comfort and movement, helping women feel more at ease during this important stage of healing and transition.
You are always welcome to bring your baby or a partner/support person to your appointment.
